Can a student get a job? yes
Santa Cruz Summer Project was begun in 1989 by Don Wilcox. Students work at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk (an amusement park) right on the beach. Much of our ministry is real life style of ministry with co-workers. The Boardwalk hires approximately 1200 high school and college students, 150 of which are internationals. The project focuses on falling more in love with Jesus, ministry as an overflow, solid training and lessons in life. We are housed in the infamous “Peter Pan” motel only two blocks from the beach. The Peter Pan has a courtyard that plays host to our dinner meals and theme parties directed towards co-workers. It creates tremendous project unity and close friendships. Monterey is just 45 minutes to the south and San Francisco is 90 minutes to the north. There is a majestic redwood forest 15 minutes away. Santa Cruz is a very progressive, culturally diverse, spiritually needy community. It is also one of the top surfing cities on the west coast. For a faith stretching, Christ centered summer, come with us out to Santa Cruz.
